Objective:
This course provides a practical and theoretical view of contemporary digital printing services and operations. It focuses primarily on the operational skills and knowledge required to have a firm understanding of the digital printing and finishing processes and workflow.
This will enhance the day-to-day effectiveness of the participants in their industry roles and will assist with their career development.
Who should attend this course?
This programme is designed for people working with or preparing to work in a digital print environment. It will particularly suit people with a National Craft Certificate who wish to enhance their skills in the digital area. It will also be appropriate for those seeking to generally expand their knowledge of this technology and workflow.Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the participant will:1) have an in-depth knowledge of the workflow of a modern day digital press room environment as well as its key benefits
2) have a firm understanding knowledge of the applied nature of the processes involved
3) understand the limitations and constraints and flexibility of digital printing and finishing processes as well as understanding the relevant controlling software
4) have had an opportunity to have a ‘hands-on’ experience of the various digital methods described below.
Programme Leader :
This programme will be led by Cormac Kennedy. Cormac has 15 years experience of working in the digital printing business in a variety of business development and client support roles for Xerox in the UK and Ireland.
